Im trying!

All in Italy I just had crap service and most of my hostels just had shit WIFI. The wifi here in Barcelona seems much better! So tomorrow night I will definitely try to get pictures updated and fill you in on Venice, San Marino, Rome, and my ferry ride to Barcelona!

Here's What Happened Last Week...

Phew. So I've been a combination of a lot of things lately so let's break it down shall we? Disclaimer .25: If you're family, just skip this blog, it's not the one (I'm suddenly realizing this has become more of a diary mixed with a travel blog... So yeah..) ANYWAYS! So first up we have  Exeter : Overall, it was super super chill there. I didn't do a whole lot-- this might have been part of my downfall, we'll get there. Night one my family took me to a pub up the road. We had a pretty chill time. My cousin Joshie attempted to play a casual game of pool-- but some British dudes slightly ruined it. It's fine, it is what it is, I think Joshie was more annoyed than I was. If you know me, you know I'm unathletic in every single way. This included playing pool. Well, these two guys basically decided to try and teach me, while also completely slagging on me. I'm pretty sure it was just in good fun-- The Brits show their love differently. Anyways, Josh...

Oh hey y’all it’s been a minute! I promise I haven’t forgotten you— but also I don’t care, this is MY blog :p If you need signs of life, message me! I’m not going to give full updates, I’ll try to later. Exeter: it was great getting to know my family and see some old friends!  Amsterdam: wow. Just wow. I have little words to describe it. It’s everything you’ve ever heard but nothing you thought possible.  Frankfurt: stop one? The zoo!

Bristol and Beyond!

What a journey!  So for whatever reason I had already planned a late flight. My best guess is that was my only option or I just misread the time. Either way, my initial flight was set to leave around 8:25pm for a 9:35pm arrival from Edinburgh to Bristol. I made the most of it at least. My hostel-- which was fantastic, High Street Hostel if you ever go to Edinburgh-- they let me leave my bags there. I wandered around, popped into a few shops I had forgotten to do so before, found food, and just did the usual touristy stuff.  Here's where the fun begins! So the itinerary for my flight before mine was from Bristol to Nice (France), Nice to Bristol, Bristol to Edinburgh, and then my flight from Edinburgh to Bristol. Well, I guess somewhere over in France they encountered weather, so my flight was delayed. Whatever I guess, thankfully my hostel once again just allowed me to use the common spaces (Seriously, great hostel). Then it got pushed back AGAIN . But I did reread it and it w...

Edinburgh Days 2 and 3

So I've come to the conclusion that posting daily is just not realistic. I will post as often as I can when I can. I've been a lot more active on Facebook than I expected (ease of access), but this will still be my primary and most detailed for those of you interested... Also, I'll post ALL my picutres here.  Day #2: I slept in a smidge (like 9:15-- a real rebel), got dressed, and had breakfast here at the hostel. After that, I decided the first thing on the list was The National Museum of Scotland. Short and simple: It was fine. Long answer: in general I don't care for museums. Yeah, they have lots of neat stuff but I just don't care to learn about half of it. So I typically walk around and briefly look at stuff. If something catches my eye I'll read about it. Unless it's technology, science, or animals... I'm a slut  nerd for those. After the museum, I mostly just wandered around a bit. I made my way back to a cemetery I had been at earlier (before th...

Edinburgh Day #1

What a day So this was my travel day, which is always no fun. But once I got to Scottland (just a quick hour plane ride... not including taxing, delays, etc etc). I then made my way to my hostel, High Street Hostel, put my bags away, and then went roaming the city.  I mostly roamed the Royal Mile (think Chiciago's Magnificent Mile, just a little more touristy). I also made it into one sight, an old cather… and I stopped here because I was tired and drunk  Where was I? Oh right ! So I popped into St. Giles Cathedral. Then I mostly just continued to roam the city. At some point I did take a nice 4-5 hour nap— much needed, traveling wipes you out. Always schedule a day to just relax. Go see something, roam, and just relax.  Don’t make it complicated, man!  After my nap I got up to do some quick shopping: my small day pack so I bought a new one, it’s chilly so I bought a hoodie, and I bought some foot care stuff as I have a gnarly blister.  I then went the hun...

Goodbye America - Hello Europe (and Canada for 6 hours)

(This post will be updated as I go along... This is a trend you'll probably see multiple times this summer) The day has come folks! I'm currently sitting in St. Louis's Lambert Airport awaiting flight number one of the day! I'll fly up to Toronto where I'll have a SIX HOUR layover. Not the most ideal but it is what it is. After that massively long layover (that's a bit much... it could be worse) I board my international flight. Want to hear something awesome? When I checked in there was no one else in my row. I'm afraid to look to see if that's still the case. If it is, how cool is that!? Once I land in Dublin I'm off to my hostel. It's the same one I stayed at last year: Abbey Court. I'll actually be there a total of three times this summer. I'll land at 8:15am local time, which is 2:15am back home. I'll head straight to the hostel to drop off my stuff then I'll explore until I can check in. This is just a quick stop overnight, t...
